Welcome to the Music department here at GEMS Wellington Primary School. All students from FS1 to Year 6 recieve Music as part of the National Curriculum which is based on developing childrens' appreciation of Music and knowledge of the vital components of music. We work on developing a sense of rhythm both physically and through instrumental performance. We also cover the elements of pitch, tempo, world music and performing together.
Music is a highly practical subject and we enjoy music through song, dance and playing instruments. If you would like your child to learn how to play a specific instrument, for example the piano, then we are able to provide individual weekly instrumental lessons.
Cretivity in the arts is highly valued at GEMS Wellington Primary School and we give children the opportunity to display this is our school productions for all year groups. As an after school activity a choir is offered and given regular concerts to perform at.
