GEMS Wellington Primary School prepares students to face the challenges of the future by creating education programmes relevant to today's world. Our teachers are specialists in their fields and encourage our children to participate, create and contribute.
Our focus on holistic education extends beyond the classroom to embrace a wide range of extra curricular activities including sports, nature trips, arts and crafts and exploratory excursions that provide a well-rounded experience and development of student potential. Extra-curricular subject specialists teach in close collaboration with form teachers.
Leadership skills are part of the daily life and learning in GEMS WPS. House Captains, Sports team captains are part of this but children are also taught how to take lead in their learning, to show initiative and be responsible whilst always considering others first.
GEMS WPS is a Forward Thinking school in many ways and one aspect that is at the heart of our forward thinking is ICT. Dedicated sessions in the Library and ICT suites also enhance the curriculum delivery. Teachers and students have access to laptops and two modern ICT suites. ICT in GEMS WPS features Smartboards in every classroom.
There is a team of specialist ICT teachers, technicians and teaching assistants and training in ICT is as important for the teachers as it is for the children. GEMS WPS regularly runs professional development for the staff.
Being a truly international school develops our children's sense of World Citizenship in a way that develops open and tolerant young minds. GEMS WPS actively teaches children not to discriminate and how they can grow into a world that is a global village.
