International Fayre Success

International Fayre 10
Thank you everyone for all your generosity. More people keep on handing in money so the total is now at 54237.50! If you saw Lia and Tasos, the twins from one of the orphanages in Cambodia that the money will be going to, running around at the end of the fayre you would have seen how worth it all was.

Each orphanage will now get just over 24,000 Dhs, which in Cambodia will go so far. The lighthouse orphanage have already built a school, bought a bus and taken in 30 more children with the money we have sent them in the last 2 years and they are now hoping to build some toilet and shower facilities with this year’s money. The only toilet and shower blocks they have at the moment are half built because they ran out of money to finish them so this money really will improve their lives again.

Steph (the mum of the twins Lia and Tasos) is heading to Cambodia in the next couple of weeks armed with loads of clothes that the parents brought in and 2 boxes full of crocs which Jen convinced them to donate. She is going to give them the news first hand that they have some money coming their way. She didn’t stop crying all day yesterday because she knows first hand how basic the orphanage is… conditions are very poor and lots of the children are very sick because of it, so she is so thankful to you all for helping her to help the other children at the orphanage.

So thanks everyone for helping and a big big thanks if you arranged and helped on a stall. Oh and I hope you all listened to Dubai 92 this morning… Seif from year 6 did us proud!
