Extra Curricular Activity (ECA)

The Extra Curricular Activitiy Programme is an integral part of GEMS WPS and provides a rich variety of activities for children to participate in after the academic programme has finished. Staff and outside providers deliver a range of clubs that extend, develop and enrich the students experiences. Children from year 1 – 6 (6 – 10 years old), have the opportunity to take part in up to 2 ECA per week and as many externally provided activities as they wish. Children in Foundation Stage (3 - 5 year olds) do not participate in ECA.

We offer activities for children after 2:30 pm from Sunday to Wednesday and on Thursday from 1.15pm. These activities run for approximately 9-11 weeks. Parents are requested to arrange collection of their children after ECA in designated waiting area.

These activities include: Music, Choir, Literacy Story Time, Cricket, Board Games, Arabic Writing, Swimming, Football, Basketball, ICT Aerobics, Dancing, Tennis Arts & Craft, Drama, Project Work, Tajweed and many more.

E-Sports

E-Sports is Dubai's leading sports training academy for both children and adults of all levels. These programs include, tennis, football, swimming, cricket, rugby, climbing, holiday camps and much more. Our main aim is to provide all students with the knowledge and tools to better themselves within the sport, with the focus on enjoyment through learning

GEMS have engaged the services of E-Sports for additional activities and these will run after our free school based activities. There are costs for all these activities as detailed on the attached schedule. Places are not guaranteed and are allocated if vacancies are available and on a first come, first served basis at the specific sign up days allocated to the various schools.

However, as we cannot have unsupervised children at school waiting to attend a club which starts later in the day, we ask you to please select a school club which slots in on the same day as your paid activity, unless you are prepared to collect at 2.50pm and return your child to their coaching session at the later time. How to register your child for ECA

• Discuss the programme with your child and fill in your 4 ECA choices, in order of preference.
• We will endeavour to allocate 2 ECA to each pupil. All clubs are filled on a first come, first served basis.
• Return the slips to RECEPTION as soon as possible.
• A confirmation slip will be given to you.
