Message from the Principal

Welcome to GEMS Wellington Primary School where every child really matters and every moment in time needs to be grasped as a learning opportunity.

I am honored to be the principal and a team member of GEMS Wellington Primary School; we are an outstanding school and learning community. Our aim is to ensure that your child receives all the attention required to do as well as he, or she is able. We know that children only get one childhood, and our goal is to make sure that each learning journey undertaken is a positive and rewarding one.

The children of GEMS Wellington Primary are a diversely talented and unique group of individuals, who are both a source of inspiration and motivation for us all. They are the life blood of our school, and all decisions, developments and strategic planning actions, are made with their well being and success at the forefront of our minds.

We recognize that every child is an individual and this is reflected in our child centered and holistic approach towards teaching and learning. We pride ourselves on our abilities to develop and facilitate in our learners, the skills, values, core competencies and knowledge, which will help them to excel in the 21st century and in todays digital age.

We recognize that learning is a life long process, and believe that the foundation we lay with children today, will help them to ensure their place as global citizens in communities around the world tomorrow.

Our learning programmes are personalized and differentiated according need. They offer challenge, rigor and are built on a platform of best practice and global pedagogy. The GEMS Wellington Primary curriculum is rich in content, rewarding, contextual, ever evolving, and based on the highest academic standards. As children transfer through the various levels of the school, their individual needs are met and monitored so as to ensure continuity and progression.

The school is able to offer a safe and secure environment in which every child is nurtured to achieve their full potential. Supporting this is GEMS Wellington Primary Schools commitment to helping each individual build their confidence, self worth and value in the wider community. Additionally, we aim to facilitate in our learners empathy, an appreciation of diversity and difference, and respect for others.

Children are provided with opportunities both within the classroom and through first hand experiences. Our extra-curricular provision is outstanding. We provide a comprehensive sport, cultural and performing arts programme beyond the school day as well as access to holiday camps, residential trips and participation in local events.

We know that in order to provide a quality education for all children, it is essential to develop an effective home school partnership. This means actively involving, engaging and informing the parents, students and wider community. By working in partnership we can build the foundations for a strong and bright future.
